Gifford Sutherland

Gifford Sutherland is CEO of the Management Consultancy firm Upskill-U which provides specialist training, coaching and continued professions l development (CPD) for the social care, housing, criminal justice and education sectors.

Gifford was the founder and former MD of the social enterprise Foundation 4 Life working with disaffected young people within the criminal justice system. Much of his work has involved facilitating the rehabilitation and resettlement of ex-offenders by providing them with training, support and employment opportunities.

He currently sits on a number of strategic boards and advisory groups tackling gangs, serious youth violence and sexual exploitation including the Mayor of London’s VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls) Committee.

Prior to establishing Foundation 4 Life, Gifford was a business development director and publisher within media and telecommunications, working for brands such as Associated Newspapers (Evening Standard, Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday), Auto Trader Media Group, Fish4 and Opera Telecom.
